Bareboat Charter Yachts
Information on the Bareboat Sailing Yachts
This section is to be used only as a guide to the yachts we commonly use for our bareboat yacht charters. This is because the yachts and inventory do vary from base to base, country to country.Bareboat Sailing Holidays Ltd is an agency, where we use yachts typically owned by local owners or companies. As there are literally tens of thousands of yachts available for charter in the Mediterranean with varying degrees of age and quality, we are very selective about the people and yachts we use.
We have forged extremely strong relationships with the yacht owners which means that we are happy to guarantee the quality of the yachts we promote.
Flights, Outboards, Transfers and End Cleaning
Remember that these are all extras to chartering a bareboat. We can arrange these for you but are always quoted separately as we pull these in from third parties. You can of course take care of the flights and transfers yourself, to save some cash, or we can help you out with these. Outboards are generally €80 per week.
Prestige Line Yachts
These yachts are a maximum of 3 years old, so can be from 2007 to brand new 2010 models. All of these yachts have a holding tank.Class Line Yachts
These yachts are a maximum of 5 years old, so are 2005 or 2006 models. Some of these yachts do not come with a holding tank - please check with us to confirm.Economy Line Yachts
These yachts are up to 10 years old, so can be from 1998 to 2003 models. These yachts do not come with a holding tank. Please note: Please remember that as a charter yacht gets older, the higher the propensity for breakages, no matter how good the maintenance program. This is why you will find the Economy and Class boats are cheaper than the new ones! Please take this into account when selecting a yacht for your next sailing holiday. The same applies for the aesthetics of the yacht, no matter how much the yacht is cleaned and polished the paint and decks will dull and the odd ding and scrape will occur.
Holding Tanks in Greece
While all of the yachts that Sailing Holidays Ltd own have operational holding tanks, and while we do try to ensure that all partners that we work with have operational holding tanks, unfortunately it is not yet Greek law that yachts must have them fitted. We believe this is a disgraceful situation but as it is not law, a great number of operators do not have them. This includes some of the partners we work with. Please do ask before booking if you have any concerns about this.
