Palma
Palma is the main town of Mallorca and is home to one of the largest marinas in Europe. Many international regattas are held in the bay of Palma where the fresh breezes allow for some fantastic sailing. Stay at the Real Club Nautico de Palma and from here you can explore the winding cobbled streets of Palma’s old town. Lose yourself in the alleyways where you will find numerous tapas bars, restaurants and cafes hidden in the back streets. The Palma cathedral towers over the town and is well worth a visit. Portals Nous is another marina located 8 km southwest from Palma where you can moor your boat. Colourful restaurants and bars line the waterfront, offering any type of cuisine you desire.Port Andtratx
One of the prettiest harbours in Mallorca, Port d’Andratx is a popular spot amongst cruisers. A nice sail around from Palma, it is the perfect bay to come to after you have seen the sights of Mallorca’s main town. There is a large marina here or you can anchor off in the middle of the sheltered bay. The town of Andratx lies a few miles inland if you feel like exploring ashore. Otherwise sit back, relax and enjoy the sunset at one of the waterfront bars that line the harbour.Soller
Further up the west coast of Mallorca lies Port de Sóller, a spectacular horseshoe shaped bay that is truly breathtaking. You can either tie up in the marina alongside local fishing boats or anchor in the middle of the sheltered bay. Head ashore to the charming town to wander the cobbled streets and explore the little shops and cafes that line the waterfront. From Port de Sóller you can walk up the hill to the lighthouse for stunning views out across the bay. A tram runs through the town, connecting Port de Sóller with the town of Sóller, 3 km inland. Sóller lies in a large, fertile bowl-shaped valley, famous for its olive groves and terraces of ancient olive trees and is well worth a visit.Pollensa
On the north west coast of Mallorca is Pollensa. One of the finest ways to see Puerto Pollensa is to take a stroll along Pine walk, a promenade flanked by palm trees which runs along the whole of the resort. If adventurous and in need to get your land legs back, then head to the Calvari steps, all 365 of them, which lead up to the small Calvari church bearing an ancient wooden cross.Fiesta starts in Pollensa with vengeance in July. The Fiesta of Mare de Deu dels Angels begins on July 26th and is the largest and most exciting fiesta, it’s a week long party in which the whole town takes part in, it really is a spectacle and if you’re there when it takes place get amongst it! There are plenty of restaurants to get nibbles or serious food in, also there are local bars to soak up the atmosphere and sink a few beers to.
Cala Ratjada
Cala Ratjada is on the far north east corner of Mallorca, built on a rocky peninsula. This area is famed for its dramatic rocky coastline and numerous little sandy coves. There are some great small sandy beaches, the main beach ‘Son Moll’ is fairly small and can get overcrowded. However if after a remote beach, the further north you head you’ll come across great little beaches at Cala Guya. Once ashore, an energetic walk up the hill from Cala Ratjada to the lighthouse at Punta de Capdepera will be well worth it, especially when you look at the views across the town. After all the exertion there are numerous restaurants to take your pick from, suiting all tastes, to while away the night.Cala Figueras
On the east coast of Mallorca where it’s full of small sleepy fishing villages, Cala Figueras has a unique charm. In Cala Figueras you can go back to a time when there was no rushing, it’s a simple fishing village. Nearby is one of the largest caves in the world with an underground lake, Cuevas del Drach which is definitely worth a visit.Colonia Sant Jordi
Colonia Sant Jordi is still an undiscovered gem, a quiet fishing village where you can enjoy peace and tranquillity. Heading ashore to explore you’re in for treats such as the local market every Wednesday afternoon where you can pick up local produce and in nearby Sea Salines, 7km ashore, there is Botanicactus. Botanicactus is the largest Botanical garden in Europe with the largest navigable lake in the Balearics, with hundreds of different kinds of plants it adds up to an exceptional experience.- Make an Enquiry
